                        "So that the sky is blue ..." - the second exhibition from the cycle "The Era of Winners" presents the works of 32 artists participating in the Great Patriotic War. Among the authors are folk artists I.M.Varichev, O.A.Eremeev, A.G.Eremin, P.G.Korostelev, A.P.Levitin, V.I.Reikhet, I.V.Sorokin, V.G.Starov, S.P.Tkachev, A.P.Tkachev, B.S.Ugarov, P.T.Fomin.

Peter Filippovich Alberti (1913-1994)
Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR
In 1941, Alberti volunteered for the front. From October 30, 1941 to May 9, 1945, as an ordinary soldier of the 267th reserve Rifle Regiment of the Leningrad Front, he participated in the battles near Leningrad, in the liberation of the Baltic States. In the battle of September 20, 1944, he was seriously wounded, was being treated in Leningrad in the military evacuation hospital No. 991 until December 8, 1944. He was awarded medals "For Bravery", "For the Defense of Leningrad", "For the victory over Germany". In 1945, after demobilization, he returned to work in Lenizo.

Baskakov Nikolay Nikolaevich (1918 - 1993)

Buchkin Dmitry Petrovich (born in 1927)

is an Honored Artist of the RSFSR, a member of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists, a full member of the Petrovsky Academy of Sciences and Arts.
After the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War and the blockade, D. Buchkin stayed with his parents in Leningrad, sharing all the trials that fell to the lot of Leningraders

Leonid Ignatievich Vaishlya (1922 - 2013)

In the Great Patriotic War, he fought as a sapper on the Leningrad and Volkhov fronts. He was wounded. After recovering, he graduated from the artillery and tank school. He fought on the 1st Belorussian Front. As part of the 11th Guards Tank Corps, he traveled from Sandomierz to Berlin. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star, the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree, medals "For Bravery", "For the Liberation of Warsaw", "For the capture of Berlin", "For the Victory over Germany"

Varichev Ivan Mikhailovich (1924-2016)

In 1942, he was drafted into the Red Army, fought on the Leningrad Front as part of the 30th Guards Corps. He was awarded the Orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, Glory of the 3rd degree, medals "For Bravery" (two), "For the Defense of Leningrad", "For the Victory over Germany".

Vasiliev Anatoly Ilyich (1917 - 1994)

In the early days of the war, Vasiliev was sent to a special unit to disguise the ships of the Baltic Fleet, where he served until November 1941. After graduating from the courses of political workers and junior political officers of the Leningrad Front, he served in the 34th separate ski brigade as a political officer of a rifle company. He participated in the battles during the breaking of the blockade in January 1943, during the crossing of the Neva River near the village of Marino, in the liberation of Shlisselburg. In the battle of Sinyavino in 1943, he was seriously wounded. After the hospital, he returned to the front, participated in the liberation of the cities of Kingisepp, Slantsy, Narva, Tallinn, in the battles for the final lifting of the siege of Leningrad in January 1944 near Oranienbaum in the area of Gostilitsa — Ropsha. In February 1945, he was demobilized due to disability with the rank of lieutenant. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star (1944), medals "For the Defense of Leningrad" (1943), "For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", "For the Victory over Germany in the war of 1941-1945" (1945).

Oleg Arkadyevich Yeremeyev (1922 -2016)
People's Artist of the Russian Federation (1994). Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts (2001). Academician of the Petrovsky Academy of Sciences and Arts. Honored Artist of the RSFSR.
He participated in the Great Patriotic War, fought on the Southwestern and 4th Ukrainian fronts. He was awarded the Order of Friendship (1997), the Order of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree, medals "For the Defense of the Caucasus", "For the Victory over Germany".

Alexey Grigoryevich Eremin (1919-1998)
People 's Artist of the RSFSR
He met the war in armored troops on the Western Front. After being wounded in 1942, he fought on the Voronezh Front as a tank platoon commander. In 1943-1944 he fought on the 2nd Ukrainian, 3rd Ukrainian and 4th Ukrainian fronts as a commander of a company of heavy tanks "IS". After being seriously wounded in the spring of 1944, he was demobilized due to disability in the rank of senior lieutenant of the Guards, commander of a tank company. He was awarded the Orders of the Red Banner, the Red Star, and medals.

Zakharian Ruben Agasevich (1901 - 1992)
Honored Artist of the Russian Federation
During the Great Patriotic War, he fought in the 388th battalion of the 17th Motor Transport Brigade of the Leningrad Front, ensured the operation of the Road of Life laid on the ice of Lake Ladoga. In 1943, he was transferred with a unit to the North Caucasian Front in the city of Ordzhonikidze, where he finished his service in December 1946 [5]. He was wounded, awarded medals "For the defense of Leningrad", "For the victory over Germany".

Korostelev Pyotr Guryevich (1924 - 2017)
People's Artist of the Russian Federation (2008). Academician of the Petrovsky Academy of Sciences and Arts
He participated in the Great Patriotic War, fought on the Central and 1st Belorussian fronts. Together with the howitzer artillery regiment, he traveled from the Kursk Bulge to Berlin. Has injuries. He was demobilized with the rank of senior sergeant. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star, medals "For Bravery", "For the Capture of Berlin", "For the Victory over Germany".

In 1941, he was drafted into the Red Army, graduated from the anti-aircraft artillery School. He fought on the North Caucasus Front in the 443rd anti-aircraft Artillery Regiment as a senior technician-lieutenant. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star, medals "For the Defense of the Caucasus", "For the Victory over Germany".

Lomakin Oleg Leonidovich (1924 - 2010)

​After the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War and the blockade, Oleg Lomakin remained in Leningrad. In February 1942, together with the Secondary Art School, he was evacuated to Samarkand. In the summer of 1942, he was drafted into the Red Army and sent to the anti-aircraft artillery school, after which he fought near Kursk, where he was seriously wounded. He was demobilized due to disability with the rank of corporal. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree, medals "For Bravery", "For the Victory over Germany".

Molteninov Konstantin Georgievich (1924 - 2019)
Honored Artist of Russia
In the autumn of 1941, he was evacuated to Yaroslavl, worked at a military factory. In 1942, he entered the naval School, after which he served in the White Sea Flotilla, in Kronstadt, in the Northern Fleet. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree, Nakhimov medals, "For the Victory over Germany".

Nikolayev Boris Pavlovich (1925 - 2017)
Honored Artist of Russia
Until July 1942, he remained in Leningrad, almost died of starvation. He was evacuated to the Altai Territory, then in 1943 he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. He served in the 525th mortar regiment as part of the 1st Guards Army, which liberated Ukraine, Poland, Czechoslovakia from German troops, and fought as far as Prague. After the end of the war, he remained in the army and was demobilized only in 1948. He was awarded the medal "For Bravery".

Razdrogin Igor Alexandrovich (1923-2018)

He fought on the Leningrad front, fought in the units of the naval brigade near Sinyavino, participated in breaking the blockade of Leningrad, in the liberation of the Baltic States. Reichet Viktor Iosifovich (1922-2000)
People's Artist of Russia. Professor
Viktor Reichet went to the front as a cadet of the Volsky Aviation School and met Victory in liberated Vienna. Medals "For military merit", "For the victory over Germany", "For valiant labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945"

Ivan Grigoryevich Savenko (1924-1987)
Honored Artist of the Russian Federation
In 1942 he was drafted into the army and sent to a tank school. Upon graduation, he was enrolled in the Guards 19th Tank Corps. He fought on the Central, 3rd Ukrainian and 4th Ukrainian fronts. On October 26, 1943, in a battle near Kakhovka, he was shell-shocked and seriously wounded, his right arm was torn off by a shell. He was being treated at a military hospital in Saratov. Demobilized due to injury. He was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree, the medal "For the Victory over Germany".

Savostyanov Fyodor Vasilyevich (1924 - 2012)

At the age of 17, he volunteered for the front. He fought on the Stalingrad, Southern, 4th Ukrainian and 2nd Ukrainian fronts. He was wounded three times, awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree, medals "For Bravery", "For the capture of Budapest", "For the Victory over Germany"

Arseniy Nikiforovich Semenov (1911 - 1992)

From 1939 to 1944, Semenov served in the Red Army in armored troops in Transbaikalia and Mongolia. Participant of the battles for Khalkhin-Gol. From the first day of the Great Patriotic War, Semenov participated in battles. During the war, he went from a private to a tank battalion commander, was wounded five times. He was awarded military awards, including the Order of the "Red Star", the Orders of the "Patriotic War" of the first and second degree, medals. In 1944, A. Semenov was demobilized due to injury.

Sorokin Ivan Vasilyevich (1922 - 2004)

In 1943, he graduated from the military school in Bolshev with a degree in demolition miner and went to the front with the rank of lieutenant. He was near Vitebsk, in an assault brigade, when in 1944 he was recalled from the front line by the Main Political Directorate to the Studio of Military Artists named after M. B. Grekov. From the studio, as a military artist, he went to the fronts in Leningrad, Finland, Norway, Poland, Germany.


Vladimir Georgievich Starov (1925 - 2013)
People's Artist of Russia. Professor
From the first days of the Great Patriotic War, eighth-grader Volodya Starov worked at night as a volunteer nurse in a military hospital, for which he received his first award - the medal "For the Defense of Leningrad". On February 15, 1942, together with his mother, he was evacuated along the Road of Life from the besieged city. In January 1943, after graduating from the 9th grade ahead of schedule, he went to the front. He served as an artillery scout in the 22nd artillery division of the breakthrough as part of the 1st Belorussian Front. He was the commander of the intelligence department of the 2nd Division of the 59th Cannon Artillery Brigade. He was awarded the medal "For Military Merit". On February 21, 1944, near the village of Mikhaylovka, Bykhovsky district in Belarus, he received shrapnel wounds. He ended the war in the city of Zerbst (Anhalt-Zerbst province) southwest of Berlin. After the end of the war, he continued to serve in the group of Soviet occupation forces in Germany until 1949.

Timkov Nikolay Efimovich (1912 - 1993)
Honored Artist of the RSFSR
During the Great Patriotic War and the siege of Leningrad, Timkov was among the defenders of the city. He served in the Political Administration of the LVO, on an armored train, on gunboats. He worked on a series of landscapes "Leningrad under siege". During the war, N. Timkov participated in almost all exhibitions of artists of the besieged city and defenders of Leningrad, in the exhibition "Heroic Front and Rear" in Moscow at the Teretyakovskaya Gallery (1943), as well as in the creation of the largest exhibition during the war years "Heroic Defense of Leningrad", opened in 1944 in Solyan Lane and laid the foundation for the Leningrad Defense Museum. He was awarded medals "For the defense of Leningrad", "For the victory over Germany". In 1943, Nikolai Timkov was accepted as a member of the Leningrad Union of Soviet Artists.

Ugarov Boris Sergeevich (1922-1991)
People's Artist of the USSR. Laureate of the USSR State Prize (1985) and the RSFSR State Prize. Repin (1976). President of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1983-1991).
In the war, he volunteered for the people's militia. Then he served as an artillery gunner, participated in battles on the Leningrad and Volkhov fronts, in Karelia and in the Far East. On the instructions of the command in 1944, as part of a group of military artists, Ugarov designed the Victory Museum in Lodeynoye Pole.

Ushin Andrey Alekseevich (1927 -2005)
Honored Artist of the RSFSR, People's Artist of Russia, winner of the Lenin Prize.

Fomin Pyotr Timofeevich (1919 - 1996)
People's Artist of Russia
Participant of the Great Patriotic War. He fought on the Leningrad and 3rd Belorussian fronts in the aviation service units of the 1st Air Army. Pavel Mikhailovich Yashin (1920-2012)
