On April 14, 2018 at 15.00 in the Gallery of Painting of the 20th Century, the personal exhibition of the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Nikolai Nikolayevich Galakhov, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the master and the 70th anniversary of creative activity, was opened. The exhibition featured more than 180 paintings and graphic works by the author of different years. Nikolai Nikolaevich is a recognized master of landscape painting. During travels in Russia, the author created many paintings on the nature of Karelia and the North of Russia, Lake Baikal, Siberia, the Caucasus, the Volga, Valdai. In his works, the author conveys the state and poetic beauty of his native nature.
Nikolai Nikolaevich Galakhov was born in 1928 in Kazan. In 1942 he entered the Kazan Art College, which he graduated in 1947. In the same year, he entered the faculty of painting at the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I.E. Repin. In 1953 he graduated from the institute in the workshop of R. Frents. B1954-1956 studied at the graduate school of the I.E. Repin Institute. Since 1955, a member of the Union of Artists. Member of numerous exhibitions. In 1982, he was nominated for the gold medal of the Academy of Arts for a series of Karelian landscapes. In 1984 he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR. The works are in numerous art museums and private collections in Russia, China, Finland, Germany, France and other countries.
