A Sunny day

Personal exhibition of Pavel Yeskov

10 Jul — 5 Sep 2019

Pavel Eskov is a contemporary Petersburg artist of an academic school, continuing the traditions of Russian realistic plein air painting. The work of Pavel Yeskov is inspired by a love of nature, to his native city, to the daily course of life, to surrounding loved ones. Looking at the canvases saturated with light, I want to look at the world with the same emotional, partial look, enjoy the tart taste of life, I want to visit these places, to absorb the radiance of these bright days captured by the artist. The author finds for each of his works his own melody of color, filling with bright sound simple and recognizable stories of the world, charging the viewer with a joyful mood.

In his canvases, the artist follows a change in the state of nature. Thanks to his vast experience of full-scale work, he creates integral, voluminous picturesque images in his paintings. The main character in the paintings of the painter often becomes sunlight, which saturates the landscape with radiance and precious splendor. In the paintings, golden rays glide over the facades of houses, play in the foliage of trees, sparkle with glare in the water of rivers and canals. Sunlight saturates the open air portraits of the artist's children. The painter admires the quiet waving of the water surface and the reflection of the sky, moorings and wooden boats, lush summer bloom and snow-white winter solemnity, spring melting of snow and the awakening of nature, bewitching autumn nostalgia.
